Privacy Policy: clear about what we collect and why
LienResources is a data business, so we take privacy seriously: yours as a subscriber, and that of the taxpayers named in the public records we work with.
Account, billing and usage details you give us or that your browser sends.
Recorded lien data, with no added phone numbers or outside data.
Email us anytime. California residents have CCPA/CPRA rights.
Who we are
LienResources provides information from recorded federal and California state tax liens to tax professionals and other business subscribers. LienResources is a wholly owned subsidiary of ProfitWeave, LLC. References to LienResources in this policy include ProfitWeave, LLC where it acts as the parent of the business. Our principal place of business is in Loomis, California.
This policy explains how we handle two different kinds of information: information about you as a visitor or subscriber (sections 2 to 3), and the public-record lien data that makes up our product (section 4).
Information we collect about you
Information you give us
- Account and launch-list details: your name, firm name, email address, phone number if you provide it, the counties you're interested in and your password.
- Billing details: billing name, address and the plan you choose. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor.
- Communications: what you send us through our contact form, by email or in support requests.
- Preferences: your counties, territory, filters and delivery settings.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, exports and downloads, logins, and the dates and times of your visits.

- Cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.
Information from third parties
- Payment confirmations from Stripe, such as whether a charge succeeded, the card brand and last four digits.
- Analytics and security providers that help us understand site usage and prevent fraud and abuse.
How we use your information
- Provide and maintain the Service, including your digests, dashboard and exports.
- Create and manage your account, confirm exclusive territories and authenticate access.
- Process payments, manage renewals and send billing notices.
- Answer your questions and send service messages, including launch and county go-live notices.
- Send product updates and, where permitted, marketing you can opt out of at any time.
- Improve the performance, accuracy and security of the Service.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and misuse of the data, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Public-record lien data in our product
Our product is built from tax liens that the IRS and California agencies have recorded with county recorders and the California Secretary of State. A lien record may include a taxpayer's name and address, the kind of tax, tax periods, the unpaid balance shown on the lien, and recording details such as the county, date and document number.
We collect this information only from records that government authorities have made publicly available. We do not add phone numbers, email addresses or other information from outside sources, and we do not combine lien records with credit, social media or marketing data. The people named in these records are generally not our customers.
We make this data available only to business subscribers who agree to use it lawfully, to comply with Circular 230 §10.30 and other professional rules, and not to use it for credit, employment, insurance, housing or other eligibility decisions.
Third-party services
- Payments: Stripe processes card payments under its own privacy policy. We do not store your full card number.
- Website and membership: our site runs on WordPress with a membership layer that manages accounts and subscriptions.
- Email delivery: an email-sending service delivers your digests and account messages.
- Analytics and security: tools that help us understand usage and protect the site.
Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy, including Stripe's.
Data retention
We keep information about you while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Billing records may be kept longer for tax and accounting purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
We keep lien records in our product while they are useful to subscribers and update them when we learn of a recorded release or withdrawal.
Data security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and a website security layer. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
- Opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; and
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise these rights, email hello@lienresources.com. We will respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined in the law.
We do not sell or share the personal information of our visitors and subscribers within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA. The categories we collect, why we collect them and who we disclose them to are described throughout this policy.
You may submit a request to know, delete or correct by emailing hello@lienresources.com, or through an authorized agent. We may ask you to verify your identity before completing a request. Requests about a public-record lien are handled as described in section 4.
Children's privacy
The Service is for businesses and adults at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
